Get a taste of  local tradition

Join us for a walk around Tromsø with our fabulous partners at FoodWanders, as we let you eat your way through the North Norwegian food scene, packed with local history. This tour will let you get a taste of local specialties, and a couple of other Norwegian products that were just too good to leave out.

We will meet you at Stortorget where this 3-hour journey through culinary traditions and local history will begin.

On our path to the final destination (our secret dining room, located in a building in the old town with a very interesting history), we will pass by several popular eating venues. We will get a proper Norwegian fish cake at Dragøy, and we’ll shop a large variety of samples from the other spots that we’ll bring with us to the dining room, where we’ll get to enjoy the traditional taste of Tromsø. Such as whale, reindeer, different kinds of cured salmon, cured meats, Norwegian made cheeses that won international prizes (just sayin’) and much more.

The menu may vary according to season, but some ingredients will always be on the menu. We promise that quality will never be weakened by these changes, but rather increased due to availability of fresh goods.

We want you to have a taste of what we normally eat, we want to tell you our story, and we want you to meet fellow travellers for a nice social dining experience.

Nothing fancy, just pure, authentic eating!

This tour includes:

  • Guided tour with a local guide

  • Tasting of 12-15 different local and Norwegian specialties

  • Advice on where to go and what to eat

  • Souvenir to remember your culinary journey through Tromsø’s streets and back alley’s

  • Non-alcoholic hot and cold drinks at the dining room

  • Small group tour with a maximum of 12 participants

Exclusions:

  • Alcoholic beverages are not included on this tour, but they will be for sale at our dining room

Notes:

  • Since our dining room is placed on the second floor of a really old building, we don’t have elevators to aid those in wheelchairs. However, if you have disabilities of any kind and want to come with us, please get in touch and we’ll do our best to arrange the tour to be accessible for everyone.

  • Please be at the meeting point at least 5 minutes prior to tour start. It’s such a drag when 10 people has to stand around and wait for the last two

If you're allergic to fish this tour might not be the right one for you. Fish is a main ingredient in our cuisine, which makes it hard to avoid using it.

We will not be able to serve halal or kosher variations of our cured meat tastings.
